Acceptance and belonging begins with really knowing how secure and safe we are in God. The reality for many of us, however, is that this is restricted by experiences in our life where our understanding of God, ourselves and others become distorted.
In the first part of this teaching Peter introduces four principles of acceptance; to accept God as He really is, to allow God to accept us as we are, to accept ourselves as we are and to accept others as they are.
